Help please.
I have the relay, wires and connectors. I went to Radio Shack and the closest they stock are 10 ohm. Would that work?
I live in a town of 5k, glad just to have a radio shack, but it is small.
Not sure if the resistor is to show some small load or if it is to reduce the voltage that is seen.

If 10 ohm won't work,
IIRC, resistance in series adds, but is there a way to divide it? I was thinking 2 in parallel and one in series.....but don't remember what happens when you put resistors in parallel.

2 10ohm resistors in parallel is 1 5ohm resistor. For 15ohms put 1 in series with a parallel pair.

I just did this mod. There isn't a need for a kit. Just go to Radio Shack and buy the parts. If they don't have them order them and be done with it. The directions are right here and believe me YOU can do it.

Get the relay and the resistor and go for it.

Has anyone tried this mod to activate not only the ebrake on startup but also the heated seats? Would you need an extra relay circut for each seat? So three relays or can you just split off of one relay? I was thinking that a summer/winter (on/off) switch for each seat would be a good idea also.

If you have command starts this works great as the truck warms up faster with the brake on. You just have to press a button the the remote, truck starts with brake on and is good to go. You should always run with the brake on anyways, its better for the engine.
