what about the tow button can you do the same thing? I am allways towing and have to turn those two on.

Also want to leave my lights on too!!
havent looked at the tow button or the lights. Tow button shouldnt be difficult but the lights might be another story as the headlight switch is always flowing power throught a resistor even when the switch is off so the tipm know the switch is plugged in and working properly, if you unplug the switch the tipm will turn on the low beam headlamps everytime the truck is started, but this also sets a body control trouble code

I just bought an 09 3500 to replace my 01 2500 so I might not be all that up to speed on the new ones yet, but it seems that I have read several posts here and on other forums that the C&C's are programed to retain their last setting of the EB. This leads me to believe that there might be a dealer "flash" that would give this option without any rewiring at all.

When I take it back to the dealer later this month for an unrelated issue I will ask if this is an option and report back unless someone has allready done this.

Parts Express:10000uF 16V Axial Mini Electrolytic Capacitor

these are the ones i used, just tied the ends together making sure to keep the polarity the dame on all, sorry i havent been able to get pics up yet, been really busy the exhaust brake switch comes out through the back of the bezel, you have to pull the bezel off first, just like your trying to get to the radio, i didnt tap the wires or anything, just shoved my wires into the back of the connector on the eb switch. Works fine because its low voltage. Will do my best to get more info/pics up by the weekend....

Ok guys, I did some work on the truck today since it was sunny and not to cold.

I used a small dc relay that we use in access control. It has a 6VDC to 24VDC input and 2 sets of NO and NC Contacts. So I used the power of the cigar lighter to power the relay and the NO contact to switch the EB. When you start the truck, the cigar lighter is NOT powered during the startup and cause the relay to make contact on the Common and NO. It makes the pulse you need to put the EB ''on''. I used a 15 ohm resistance in serie with the NO contact. And Voilą !!! The EB is On when you start the truck.

I hope everything is understandable....

I'LL post some pics tonight...

either way anyone can help me do this I would be gratefull. all the stuff you two are talking about above is like chinese to me.

Thanks Jeff

pm me if you come up with something. the pics look like 4 wires hooked to the switch I assume you undid the oem ones? and the chinese stuff you talk about is inline with those wires?

I build and wire my race cars but Im no electrician etc.

I would really like the trans tow button on all the time also, or either just on a toggle on the dash.

the daytime run light kits they sell for canada I think will work for my head light needs I looked that stuff up once online but it seemed like most were only a percentage of the lights on.

Thanks Jeff

Jeff,

no prob. man, I'll help you. Give me a few hours and I will post you some pics and will give info on where you can get the small relay.

Just for you to understand. The relay goes in parallel of the EB dash switch so you can control manually the EB. The switch of the EB is not just a regular temporary switch it has a built in resistor to give the ECM ( truck computer ) a definite amount of Voltage. It need's a pulse to work: so only a impulse of voltage and 0 Volt after. If you understand how the system works will be easier for you to work on it. Just ask me if you need more info.

Sebastien

Hey Jeff,

Maybe I could come up with something for both EB and Tow/haul. I'll have to make some test... But I can tell you that the EB switch trick is working great !!!
