Just out of curiousity... was that a pringles lid?

I'm just keeping the A-Pillar and doing red white and blue gauge color themes.

Pringles lid!! Nice. Nope it is the plastic face cover that come on Diprocl gauges. It is the same OD as the trim around the gauge.

how would you run the wires? would you have to drill into the top of your dash?

Your idea for this guage cluster is exactly what I thought the first time I sat in my truck. To me, it was the logical place for guages, and there is plenty of room for it without reducing visibility. I especially like the Edge Attitude integration idea.

I will keep you guys posted. Today I got in touch with Gauge works. I sent them the pictures. He said they would take a look at it.

Let me know if they aren't able to help you. It may be something we could run on our rapid prototype machine. I came up with the same idea for my Ford, and even hacked something together out of an upside-down over-mirror pod, but it was pretty ugly and kept sliding off (since the contour did not match the curve of the dash, and I only had a small contact patch of velcro). One of these days I plan to build one for my truck.

Regards,
Michael Pliska

Finally got my new gauges in today. Now you can get a better idea of what I going for. I found a local shop today that is going to help with the design.... never heard any word back from guage works. The guy was showing me some of the work today and they do all kinds of crazy stuff. They even had and article on the wall about some stuff they had done in a 'Rides" project. So any way here are some pics with the gauges in place.

I think i'm gonna stick with 4 gauges up there. I think 5 might be a little much.

I think the 5th gauge would be a little much as well... I like how it looks though i wouldnt mind having of of those when i get my gauges. Are they just doing one for you or are you going to make a few?

Well not real sure. One off to start. But if I can get them molded with ABS. It would really help my cost if some others could split the cost. If 1 = $1000 and 10 = $1200, $120 a piece wouldn't be bad. I'll let you all know if I can get anyone to produce these things.

I like your new idea to mount some gauges. 5 is what I would need (want actually!). Is there much room for the defrost air to get at the windshield? Also is it hard to clean the windshield with that pod?

Right it does not block the defrost. Cleaning the windshield may be a little difficult.
