EGR Cooler Removal

Here are some pics, if I could do it all again I would have just done this in the first place. No messing with the tube clamps!!!

You only need three block-off plates, I used two just using one square one for the intake.

I left all the hoses original.

15mm deep well socket for the exhaust bolts.

10mm deep well socket for the cooler mounts

NO SERVO MOTOR!!!!

I swear I knew these c&c's were alot more simple when I bought it

I will be removing the cooler mount/tray/shield whatever it is to make my truck lighter... maybe that will help bring fuel prices down... or at least what Obama says.

You can use a 14mm and short extension to get the mount for the cooler off there. Its only 2 bolts and really cleans things up.

My mpg's have pretty much stayed the same since the dpf delete. 16.5 in town
and 20-21 hwy, and my truck is pretty heavy. I get about 12-14 pullin a bobcat.

Nice clear photos....

Althought I'm not ready to do my delete yet, I'm sure I'll reference this post when it comes time. It's great when people take the time to take pictures documenting their projects. Nothing is as helpful when trying to decide how best to execute a project as good, high-res photos.

Thanks

Is the block off plate for the cooler coming off the manifold the same size as the ones used on the egr? I will use them as a pattern except make it heaver if it is.

nope, the Cooler bolts are 3 3/8" o.c. with a 1 13/16" dia. hole. Then cut your plate approx 4 3/8"" x 2 13/16"

OK, thanks, I want to have everything made before I take it off to save time. My cooler has been replaced before and I don't know what he put the nuts back on with, but I'm going to have to get a longer wrench to loosen them.
