Overhead Console (EVIC Operation)

Fella's,
On my new 2009 4500 QC For some reason I can't access various modes on my EVIC. No MI to Empty, Trip, or Elapsed Time. I can get the outside Temp and Avg MPG and the Personal settings will come up. On my other Dodge Trucks I just pushed the step button and it would scroll thru. Am I missing something? I've read the manual several times but no luck. Do I need to take it to the dealer and get it enabled? I am taking it to the dealer soon to activate the fast idle so I can ask them about the EVIC also.
Thanks for any help guys.
Jeff

ya you actually dont use the step button to access mpg stuff. use the button to the left of step. i dont remember what it is but you'll come to a scree that is either: run time, mpg, trip mileage or dte. once you get to that screen, then you use step to toggle thru them
