you see the size of that intercooler on that bad boy too?

Ford F-750 6.7 Cummins pics - 6.7 Cummins Forum - Your 6.7 Cummins Resource

Ford/dodge have done the same detune on the HD's in the past, look at the C&C when it came out it was 305 and 610 ish in 07.5 I think, and I know the F450 from ford is detuned from what the F350 is running with the 6.4

How about how much longer it will live ..probably longer..Bigger isn't always just to make more power.

F650 base is only 200 and 520, LOL. Impressive! as Tom put it. My truck in 03 made better numbers than that, I think even the SO motor did.
If you look Ford and GMC never have the HP to be purchased that say ex... Pete, KW,& Freightliner sell .

I the weight rating have all to do with the suspension of the truck. The F650 is a class 6 truck no CDL required. As far as the engine is concerned we had 2 class 7 day cab KW with a PACCAR branded PX-6 engine, which is the Cummins 6.7L. Other the color you can’t tell the difference between the two. I’m sure there are other differences, but all the EPA mandated crap comes along. It may be how the ECU is mapped but our drivers load up to 33,000 lbs, the 9 speed Eton and 5:44:1 gears help too. Our engines are commercial engine built for more then just automotive use, I know Komatsu uses the 6.7l in a mid side dozer and motor graders. I’m sure Cummins sells it to more companies then we can image. I think Cummins also makes a 8.0l using the same block as a 6.7l looks a lot it.

That’s because no one has every made a diesel in the V configuration that was any good.
Even Detroit Diesel went to the inline 6 and even Cat ditched their V8 of the 80’s for road use.

and to think that ford wouldve gotten traditional with its new in house built 6.7 powerstroke. i wonder how those aluminum heads are gonna hold out after 150k miles.

I applaud the effort but it’s a scary thought using aluminum heads on a high compression engine. But I wonder if there has been a diesel with aluminum heads before?
