egt SIMS

Ok, So I just ordered egt sims from RSD. I'm hollowing out my dpf filter, taking off my muffler and putting stacks. Im keeping the dpf filter on for basically a muffler because I dont want DOT giving me for taking it off. If I install the sims, and unplug to two lines off the pressure sensor, should the truck run fine or will my catalyst full light come on the heads up display. Please help.

If you do end up getting a catalyst full light, look in the DIY DPF delete thread in the 6.7L tech articles and make up the differential pressure sensor SIM. I don't know if anybody actually sells them but they are easy enough to make and that should solve any problems with the dinging and overhead

I basicaly have the same question, I am wanting to do the same before investing more $$ on a programmer/tuner/DPF-R. I want to do the basic EGR delete and a DPF delete.

So, if the EGT sims are installed with the DPF delete pipe, is it ok to try running it with the DP sensor still connected or do we want to disconnect it before running the engine? I just want to make sure I do go into the limp mode and end up at the dealer>!M!>!>M!< that will $uck..

Thanks for the help.

disconnect the rubber tubes, DO NOT LOOP THEM, leave it connected electrically. Once the EGT sims are in place that should be all you need

Thanks, did you cap the holes left on the DP after removing the rubber hoses? just making sure since there are some many versions on what to do with that plug and it's effects. So basically, the engine cannot go into regeneration with the SIMS installed and the DP sensor has nothing to do with it.

You could do that, but you may have to get some high temp rubber for the exhaust side. Just leave the tubes hang off the sensor, it normally gets all sorts of sooty shyte in there anyway so a little road grime won't hurt anything. The EGT sims keep the truck thinking that EGT's are too high for it to safely regen so it won't even try. The DP sensor really controls two things, one, the annoying ase dinger on the overhead, and monitoring DPF load which triggers the regens. If you leave them both open to atmosphere the differential is 0 so it thinks the filter is clean.

Thanks, I am waiting for the parts to do this. Hoping my current ECM flash will cooperate with the EGR/DPF delete without needing a programmer/tuner..Ill post the results later.

cool man, I'm doing the same thing. The only difference is I'm having a muffler shop put a flange on the muffler side and DPF original pipe and new DPF delete pipe. This way it's really simple to takeoff and put back on if needed. I'll post pictures and let you know how mine works out. I also got the stuff from Radio shack to make the Pressure fooler, so I'll let you know how easy that is and post the results.

cool, did you build the pressure sims yourself? I assume you bought the EGT sims. Did the CAT show full until you did the pressure sim?

I made my pressure sensor sims and my first set of EGT sims. My second set of EGT sims were from Shibby. Nothing wrong with the first set, just different ohm rating
