I did all of this yesterday to my 2,300 mile, late 08 Dually. I am running the O2 sensor, no sim, and the resistors in the two temp probe plugs.
Man, these 6.7s just don't have hardly any smoke. My old 90CTD was a terror as far as smoke.

If these 6.7s only expel the little bit of smoke I have seen so far, then the DPF is just a waste of metal.

I did get the soft codes,
P242b
P244a
P0401

Nothing I'm concerned with.

Yes, I did just only block off the EGR tube. The EGR tube was full of dust too.

With a quick drive down the highway, the lie-ometer shows a 2 mpg increase.

No, I didn't notice an power increase.

Has anybody found out the values of resistors used to fool the pressure sensor yet?

I have an 08 dually and it has three temp sensors and two O2 sensors in the exhaust . Would you'll suggest putting bungs in the new exhaust and putting the O2 sensors back in? Or do I need to put a 470 ohm resistor across two of the six wires?

I have a question this post is removing the filter in the exhaust and rigging the sensors to make the engine computer to think it is still in place

Am I right so far so I am a welder could I cut the pipe in a manor to which it would make it hard to see

Then take out the filter and re-weld the original pipe back up so it looks like it was not touched
Put back all the sensors and call it a day will this work can it be done what is the filter look like on the in side Just need so in put just bought a new 5500 sterling and wanted to know what to do to get the most fuel for the mile

Thank you Bear

How do you tell the o2 sensors from the ones you need to put the resistors accross?

I have a dually. This is the first thread Ive seen on here that actually goes into detail with pics of whats what.

Thanks.

The Cab Chasis system is different. They dont have O2 sensors. Just the 3 EGT probes ans the 2 preasure tubes.

Why can't the O2 sensors (which are located on either side of the catalytic converter) be reinstalled in the straight pipe?

Also, wouldn't the pressure sensors keep the ECM happy if reinstalled in a straight pipe?

No, The Pressure sensor is looking for a pressure difference (restriction). Since the pipe is straight through, no diff. Some restriction is normal due to the DPF. The question becomes, what do we want the ECM to see for a proper operating DPF (that's NOT there)?

Then how about installing the upstream "pre-DPF" pressure sensor in the straight pipe (where it will pickup exhaust pressure) and leaving the 2nd downstream sensor open to ambient? Should generate enough of a differential...
