I have no bungs or anything attached to this new exhaust. It's installed just as it would be on a 5.9L truck.

are thier no o2 sensors on the 5500 c&c ?

i was sure i saw them on a couple i spy'ed at the dealer ?

nice work otherwise. get some dielectric spray to clean and help protect the connections youve had open . the metal on the resistor leads is raw and will oxidize within a week and start to give poor signal transmission . at the very least id find or make some pins that will slide into the factory female connector and solder the resistor to the pins , heat shrink that leaving the pins poking out , plug that into the connector and heatshrink the whole deal.

get a coulple of good drive cycles on it before you close it up real good . and let us know how it goes.

My truck only has the two pressure tubes and three temp probes as seen in the photo at the start of the thread.

Thanks for the ideas and advice on the pins & resistors. I will probably run to radio shack and try to find some matching pins today!!

Thumbs up

Here are a few more pics of my DIY DPF delete....

Here is the cheap & fast way to install the resistors in the factory plugs..I simply cut one prong off the connectors and soldered the resistor between the two and it plugs right into the female plug on the trucks wire harness. These conectors are the same size as the factory male connector so they fit nice and snug.

I still have no related codes to the DPF delete!

[IMG][/IMG]

Then I filled the voids with dielectric grease and heat shrinked the whole plug to seal them off.

Here is all three plugs finished.....

2. - ohm?
3. - ohm?

for the pyros, i am having trouble finding the right combo.

I am using the 470's in all three temp probe/pyrometer locations. Just keep in mind that this combo is on my C&C truck not a regular pickup that has a different DPF & EGR system. I originally thought I needed a different one in each location but that is not the case.

What temp reading does the 470 resistor send to the ECM? Do you have a PMT or anything to check that? Just curious.

Info from an earlier post...

1.5k restistor =715 degrees start temp
1k resistor = 825 degree start temp
680 resistor = 960 degree start temp
460 resistor = 1067 degree start temp

i may be wrong in my thinking, but there should mot be much of a temp difference between the C&C and my megacab exhaust temps (same air flow, same size injectors, engine size and turbo), i have noticed that the egr cooler on the cab and chassis is smaller, EGR codes are not a problem. I ordered some 330 resistors and i am waiting for them to get here, the 470 did not work in mine and the truck is going into a pre-regen mode and keeping my egt real high. It also idles up while in park without the emergency brake on like its trying to keep the temps up to burn out soot.

i am curious as to how the resistor = temp numbers are being figured?

the larger resistor i put in the quicker the cel came on and the edge would read ex temp to high bank one, I dont remember the p code.

where did you find the heatshrink big enough to fit around the connectors.
