This is for people that have ONLY the GEN 2 delete(egr still in place).
Please post up your experience(s) with The Eliminator kit. I'll start...
First off, I am using the 4" down pipe and delete pipe with stock muffler in place. Got the ol' man to help me install the kit in his driveway this past weekend. It took us about 4 hours total. We fired up the truck. It had a nice, deep rumble, but more importantly it had no codes! Took a drive for about 10 miles. We got out on the highway, and once to full operating temp, I started hammering the throttle and really working the exhaust brake. I saw a lot of black smoke within the first couple of miles. All is good. Later that day, with about 50 miles on the kit, I get a P2000,cleared it. The next day with about 75 miles on the kit, I get a P2000, cleared it. Monday morning on the way to work, I went into(what is supposed to be my final) regen. White smoke curling everywhere, literally creating clouds. I ran it for about 20 miles down the highway until my Pyro showed that the EGTs went back down to normal. Tuesday, my check engine light doesn't illuminate, but when I use my scanner, I have a stored P2454. I intend on checking my posi-tap connection, but I am fairly certain that my connection here is good.
What I have noticed, and what concerns me(the law), is that I am generating a lot of smoke. I have noticed that I do not smoke in the mornings when I first leave, but only after the truck has reached near full operating temp. It smokes quite a bit on take off(out of second gear) and when shifting up through 4th or 5th(maybe in 6th I am moving too fast to really see the smoke from the tailpipe). The smoke isn't black either. It is more of a grey/blueish color(not the same color as when I was obviously in regen). This smoke seems to come and go also. The only control variable I have at this point is that it doesn't produce this smoke when the engine is cold. Also, I only get black smoke when I stomp it hard in 4th or higher. Does anyone else have any comments on their smoke...

I installed my BADP Gen 2 Delete with 4" downpipe and 4" delete pipe about 300 miles ago. I was code free for the first 200 miles and saw a 1mpg increase on the highway to 16mpg. Then, check engine light, code P2000. After a few miles, went into a brief regen with some white smoke, only lasted a few minutes. I pulled the front O2 sensor, wiped it off with a cloth, reinstalled and had the code cleared. I'm now 100 miles after clearing code P2000 and I'm still code free, no regens that I've seen, but my highway mpg is down to 14.5mpg which is the same as before the delete. I'm not seeing a lot of black smoke, can't see any from the drivers seat, but I've been told by others that from outside the truck it smokes like a regular diesel now.

I have the same tbe gen 2 with stock muffler. Had trouble with my posi-tap. Got help from BADP and fixed the connection. When this connection was bad I got the smoke you're describing constantly. After this was eliminated, I would get smoke after about 20 miles for a short period of time. BADP had me return the unit to them and they reprogrammed it and I'm due to have it back today. If this works out, it will have been overnight both ways. They've been very good. If I were you, I would give them a call.

Since I did get a P2545 code, I am going to double check that posi-tap connection. In fact, I am going to check the voltage readings on the whole system to verify that everything is connected properly. The only thing that is funny is that my check engine light never illuminated, the only reason I found this "stored" P2454 was because I manually scanned the computer for codes, and as I said before, my scanner showed it as being a stored code...
So, I guess what I am hearing is that I should be seeing minimal smoke(with my grandma style driving habits) if all connections are good and my module is programmed correctly?

The constant smoke gray / blue smoke you're seeing is from the EGR, the DPF delete kit it will do almost nothing to remove or reduce it regardless of what generation it is or who made it.
About the only variable that affects how much and when you see EGR smoke is the ECM flash, the rumor mill tells us that the newer flashes don't have the EGR open at idle and might not have it open all the way at 'cold' engine operating temps. From experience with the older flash the harder you're on it the less EGR it flows so the less EGR induced smoke however if you're on it hard like that you'll probably get more fuel smoke.
Sorry that this hijack isn't a personal experience with the BADP GEN2 kit.

No, keep the info coming. I am glad that you pointed that out, I had forgotten that the latest flashes closed the EGR at idle. I am seeing virtually no smoke at idle. In fact, I am seeing the most smoke between 10% and 75% throttle. When I hit 75% to 100% throttle, the smoke then turns black.

Slag is right. The EGR is going to make a difference in the smoke. I believe he is explaining the 08 sequence in the EGR operation though.
I am pretty sure the P2000 is being generated because the Posi-Tap is not making a good connection. I suggest you take a pocket knofe and peel back the insulation around the wire where the tap will be do you are sure. Or you can do what I did, solder a wire onto the Brown wire and put my own connectors on the circuit.
The only other way to get the smoke down is to get your intake temps down. Cold Air Filter and the baffle off the front of the truck removed will give you about 25 Degrees. Disconnecting the EGR will drop it another 20. Typical stock intake temp is 150 to 160 degrees stock. I have mine down between 60/80.
Read the Unplug EGR Recap I did. It's a sticky thread somewhere int he 6.7 area. . .Maybe performance. Not sure.
I have kept up and read the entire thread on the EGR UNPLUG. The only thing is, I am not supposed to do that with a GEN 2, right? I am not very happy about the incompatibility between the EGR unplug/block and the GEN 2.... I had my EGR unplugged before I did the GEN 2, now I have it plugged back in
Anyway, I keep getting the P2000. My truck must have had the G30 recall already done. It is an 08 with a manual transmission and the AO flash. I bought it in February 2008, and it has been in the shop 3 times since purchasing. The dealership must have done the G30 on it during one of the dealer visits, if not before I even purchased the truck...
Anyway, I hate how this stupid daylight savings crap messes up everything. It is too dark to use the volt meter to check my harness for correct voltage readings or double check the posi-tap connection, so I will do that tomorrow at work. I hope that it is just my posi-tap connection throwing the P2000!

Bando. . .That is not an incompatibility issue. This EGR unplug thing came up as a hot item AFTER the Gen 2 was designed. Unfortunately, BADP was trying to meet too much pressure to realize a few of us had actually gotten the EGR delete to work before the DPF delete. It's the way the EGR and the DPF work with each other.
I have the same setup, Gen 2 turbo back. I started out with a few codes, Bank 3 sensor, which I had one of the bad wiring harnesses. So I fixed it and since I had the initial code thrown, and nothing since. I ran it like that for a bit and did notice that it would go into regen when I would come up to a stop light, then slowly stop. But when it wasn't in regen, I would get a lot of black smoke. Made it fun to drive with the EB on, it would pull even more out.
But I did the EGR unplug, and it has gone into regen about 3 times and they were right after startup while the engine was cold. For 2 of them I shutdown and restarted and they quit. The last one did it only for about 2 miles after I got off the highway. Then it quit on its own and hasn't done it since, but it has only been 2 days. I did also notice that the only time I get smoke is when I get on it hard, just like my fathers 5.9. But I haven't had any extra codes thrown, and I only get a rough idle on cold startups for about 2 mins then smooth. I would say try unplugging your EGR and see if it will work, some of us it works, and others it doesn't.

I bought the BADP 4" Gen 2 DPF delete pipe only. My first Eliminator box was faulty but thanks to the great support from Shane and his crew at BADP my second box is installed and so far code free. My mileage has increased from 14-19 mpg to 18-25 mpg. Yes my truck does smoke but no more then a real diesel should. Only when I put the PMT in Extreme does she really roll some coal. I'm waiting on the BADP code free EGR so I can make some more needless equipment fall off!
I understand why the two delete systems won't work with each other(I am more of a lurking post reader than an active poster), and I have no problem with them not working together right now. We are exploring new territory here, and I accept that we will running into several issues. No biggie...I'm just anxious.
I think once I get my posi-tap connection verified, if all is good, I will go ahead and unplug the EGR again. I have the plates and the plates for a cooler delete, but I think I may wait to install the plates until there is an EGR fooler. We'll see...
