if rear AC is not a concern for you i bet simply duct taping the rear ports shut will increase front air flow. I did this to my Wrangler when I ran the roll bar through the dash and it went through the AC duct work. the air that came out of the center vents after taping the side vents off was increased substantially.

here is a link on another forum to the dash removal. he outines everything very well. he did it for the blend door problem, but as i said the process is the same. once the dash is removed, the screens wil be fully visible facing straight up just before the air enters the main dash vents. i think the two nuts that were attached right behind the steering column nuts were the hardest to see. just get under there and look up, then you see them easy. you can't miss them. let me know if you have any more questions.
