The voltmeter on the dash show 14 volts. Would that imply the alternator is OK?

I would let it sit overnight....it should only take ten minutes of run time to charge the batteries...if it does the alternator is working just fine....sometimes things just happen...give that a try...I wouldn't lose sleep over it...you have warranty...give that a try and see what happens....and sometimes things go bad.....if it has boobs or tires it's going to give you troubles

go to a local parts store and have them check it out . they will have a tester that will check your batteries and alternator and it won't cost anything and that way you might not have to fool with the dealer .

Thanks for all the help guys.

I'm going to let it sit overnight and take it to the parts store in the morning. Maybe I'll buy a couple Optima batteries. I don't want any mystery failures when I'm out traveling.

why bother... batteries have a 1yr/20000km warranty on them. get chrysler to replace them. If they fail a load test, they will be replaced.

I was wondering is you have a trailer hooked up to it. The power lead to charge the trailer batteries is not isolated. I killed my batteries once by leaving a trailer light on over a long weekend while it was plugged into the truck.

My 07.5 would discharge the batteries over night with no warning. It would go for weeks and then just go dead. Happened a few times. But when I got it, nothing lit up at all

No trailer or camper hooked up.

I went to Sears and got their $13 electrical system service. This included testing both batteries and the alternator. They also checked for parasitic loads. They didn't find anything wrong. So I am totally clueless as to what could have caused the dead batteries. I am going to let the truck sit from Friday through Monday and see if the problem reappears.
