Killed a Duramax

well boys this weekend started off great.
it was my good friend Davds birthday and he had been nagging me to race him since i got my truck in December. well the day finally came that the chit talking had to stop.

let me set the scene for ya:

its a nice overcast day and not to humid.
i get to his house to check out the new gooseneck that he just had delivered, and he was like hey lets race. now i hadn't been wanting to race him cause his truck is pretty quick. so i said lets go.

now here is what hes got:
2006 Chevy Duramax crew cab 4x4
k&n CAI
4" straight pipe exhaust
PPE Programer
285's
Cognito pitman and idler arm braces
Trans Go for his tranny

here's mine:
2007.5 Dodge w\ 6.7
Stock intake
BADP 4" TBE to a 6" Miter cut stack
Superchips FlashPaq

race 1:
So we get the this road behind his house and our friend Robert (03dulley) he starts us. from the line i jumped him half a truck when we get to about 3rd gear he gets even with me then i hit 4th and it was all over for him and i beat him by a truck length.

race 2:
alright thats one in the books for the Dodge and now he wants to race again to get some of his pride back, so i was like why not. so we race again going the opposite way we just came. this time robert startred us witht the light on the fourwheeler from the finish line.
when the light turns on and off the line again i eat his lunch a truck length and again he catches up up to me about half a truck length and at the finish i got him by a truck length.

well that was good for me and a hell of a Birthday Present for him.

Nice! Kill stores are always fun.

I actually was able to race on Fri as well.

My brother in law and I both had 5.9's. His an 05, mine and 06. Same color, both slt 4x4's. Almost identical. Anyway, I got rid of the 06, and since I got the 08, he has been giving me , cause he knew it was stock. Well he didn't know that since we last hung out, I have been throwing $ at it.

So fri night, we leave my nephews football game, and as I am sitting waiting to turn out of the lot, he comes out the other exit, flys by me and bomb's me pretty good. So at the next light, he punches it, I let him get about 1 length on me, and then nailed it. I passed him like he was staning still, and then let off when i got about 2 lengths on him. It was fun...he had all kinds of excuses when we arrived at the restaraunt we were meeting at.

FYI: his truck only has banks monster exhaust, and a triple dog with crazy larry.

Must not have much of a tune some guys can tune up to 300 extra hp, if the truck can handle it.

that's what i was going to say....who ever programmed it, didn't know what they were doing.........durasnax's are really fast. trust me my room mate has 1 and we trade off trucks sometimes.........he'll take my work truck (6.7) and ill take his. we've actually raced too, with me in his truck and him in my work truck(i don't let him touch my personal 5.9). the durasnax gets the 6.7 most of the time.....alot of it has to do with reaction time too.

with all this said the 6.7 is bone stock and the durasnax has an edge , cat back magna flo and sb intake.

He was running on level 2. Not sure if the truck can handle more than that. They were both good races, and finally kept the max owner from talking trash. He is still trying to figure out how to beat me.

All he has to do is bump up to the 160 tune and it should be a little more even or he might get ya. Sounds like a good race though.

"if the truck can handle it" is a key part of it. I recently witnessed a friend of mine blow fifth gear on his 05 Duramax/Allison with the PPE programmer.

Transmissions can only take so much.
