The real reason I hate taking it in for service

It's not the wasted time. I'm retired and I've got all the time in the world. Today I'm down there for an oil change and yet another P2000 CEL so I had to spend a few hours.

The real awful part is the TV in the waiting room. About 5 women are in the service lounge and the TV has some kind of daytime women's program. Whoopie Goldberg and some other gals I didn't recognize with real life stories of plastic surgery. The breast augmentation story was slightly distasteful and the 15 year old with breast reduction even more so. But I had to walk out when they started the long story about laser vaginal rejuvenation (makes you feel like you're 18 per the story). All the ladies in the waiting room were watching pretty intently through the whole thing.

The last time I had to do the waiting room thing at the dealer I was out numbered by folks who spoke a different language than myself so we watched soccer on a foreign channel that broadcasts soccer matches from around the world 24/7 - I was more entertained outside by the irate construction foreman who brought his truck in for service without an appointment and expected to get the parts that were ordered specifically for my truck because he was at the dealer before me.

These are great examples of why I don't go in for service. If I absolutely have to, I go to a nice country town dealer.

Yeah exactly!!! I was in for tires about a month ago and experienced the same thing!! I felt like all the women (double X chromosome anyhow) were looking at me while sitting in the waiting room while Oprah was on!!! It's no wonder why we have the problems we do in this country with the $hit that's on the airways!!!!

In essence, they take the "extreme" and make it seem "mainsteam"!!!!! Which of course all us Normal Males know is not true. But if y'all are like me.......Try and convince your "other" of that!!!!! Good Luck!!!

If the guy hadn't been such a jerk I would've done my good deed for the month and let him have my parts, I could totally appreciate his position in terms of time; on the other hand one would think that a construction foreman of all people would have the foresight to make an appointment and check on the parts availability.
