Wow......Help

I have a 08 3500, CEL lit up on my way home from the gym today.

I have no mods and 2200 miles.

Heads up display has been telling me to "Contact Dealer" for oil change.

Can I check the code? And how?

Whats going on. I love my truck.

Thanks fellas

It depends on how hard you drive and the kind of driving! Ideling alot shortnes oil changes and you dont know how much it ideled on the dealer lot. If you do more highest driving the oil lasts longer too. From what I have heard from other guys on the forum any where from 1,000miles to 4,500 is normal on the first change, so you are doing great!

The oil change light is supposedly in conjunction with viscosity ....mine has come on early as well....just turn the key on pump the accelerator pedal three times and it will reset it...no biggie truck won't blow up....follow the 7500 mile service and you will be fine...the key trick only works part of the time...take it to the dealer or stop by a large parts store and have them read it for you

Light has nothing to do with viscosity. It set to some perimeters that were messed up from the factory. The later flashes addressed the issue. You can reset it by turning key to on position and pumping the go pedal to the floor and back three times then turning the key back off. If the light really did work to the vicosity of the oil then the light would turn right back on, but it doesn't. You should be good to go on the first oil change at 5000 miles.
