I dont even think they know man. Every time a 6.7 rolls through the door, i ask my service manager (my go-between with chrysler) what is in the works.. and every time he says they aren't saying a thing.

They kno theres a huge problem. They have. My dealership alone has claimed thousands on 6.7 in diag time alone. But they're backed into a corner, cuz the EPA gave them gold stars for meeting the 2010 emmisions regs. so soon, but now the trucks don't work. They can't raise emmisions on the trucks to solve the problems, and sure hope the don't resolve to let you guys keep bringing your trucks in. Neither are feasable or acceptable.

And i Can see their standpoint on voiding the warranty if you guys are ripping off the DPFs and EGRs (which i support fully) cuz it's like buying a brand new HEMI truck... throwing a 200 shot of NOS in it, then trying to get a warranty repair for a bent rod or somethin...

I'm with you tho.. somethings gotta be done. I have seeing 6.7 through my door as much as you guys hate bringing them in.

it's really too bad they decided it was necessary to meet 2010 emmision standards in 2007. hopefully they come out with some sort of recall fix soon.

I dont think it should be compared to putting a 200shot of nos on a hemi. I can understand voiding the warranty for putting a programmer on the truck or a huge turbo and larger injectors. But voiding the entire warranty over just an exhaust system that has no harmful affects on the truck is ridiculous. If somehow it was harmful to the engine to delete the EGR or DPF then thats completely understandable, but at this point its the only thing keeping most of the trucks out of the shop.

Generally the DPF / EGR deletes are accompanied by an Egde or PMT box to clear the codes and who wouldn't turn that up if they paid for it? There are a select few of us out here who feel that the engine has plenty of power in stock form just want better reliability and fuel economy from it.

that is why the warranty should not be voided unless the accessory is the culprit. I was a service manager for yamaha, suzuki, ktm, and kawasaki for many years. The warranty reps had the final say in all warranty repairs no matter what. THey never voided any warranty b/c of aftermart add ons, cams, exhaust, big bore kits, etc etc, unless they were the cause of the problem needing warranty.

the punishment (warranty voided) should be in line with the crime committed

thats a good point but imagine if chrysler gave the green light to mod your engines/trans etc... ontop of diaging the problem... techs then have to figure out if your mod is the cause of the problem.. and if chrysler deems that your mod is the cause and hands you a 3000 bill for an engine rebuild... and you dont like it... your going to argue the mod didnt cause it. then you have a legal battle on your hands.

thats why chryslers rules are black and white... mess with the truck, loose your warranty. plain n simple.

DPF delete is not even close to putting a 200hp system on a Stock Hemi Motor, I appreciate you trying to make sense of it, but you're way off.

Yes but if its so black and white they could even choose to void the warranty over different tires or shock absorbers. It cant be so black and white their has to be some give and understanding on both sides of the fence. I think it would be pretty obvious that an aftermarket exhaust system would not be the culprit of a system melt down. Sure there are some circumstances that could cause engine malfunctions, but they would be pretty dang rare and probably never occur.

CanRam can you shed any light on the new trubo repalcements? Are they redesigned from the original equipment on my 07' or is it the same turbo just with a factory clean out port?
