Fuel Filter?????

My lie O Meter says I get 15.9 (unloded Hyw) 9.9 (city) 30%hwy@70MPH and 70% city @35MPH. Hand calc 11MPG (+-) the ocaisianal hotrod to make it stop the regen. The truck now has 22000 with the stock Fuel filter will a new one help with this? Is this the norm MPG?

dude id change the fuel filter mine only lasts about 5k miles. other than that welcome to owning a 6.7

5k miles is excessive unless you are pumping crap diesel into your truck....I'm fortunate to have a FP gauge after my filter and find that after about 15k I get a touch less pressure then with a new filter, but it's still good to go...

A dirty filter can cause poor fuel mileage but i think you need to accept the DPF as your enemy...

I plan to add a FP gauge for that reason... I will soon (starting in 10 minutes) have more filters on my truck and a filter change will become $$, so I want to know when I have to.

I had mine changed today at the dealer - 13k miles. They charged me $66 plus tax. $45 labor, $21 for the filter. $45 labor seemed a little high to me.

5.9 or 6.7? $20 sounds right for filter but yes, you got screwed on the change. Ten minutes, tops....but I sappose they still charged you an hours labor.

Filter is $10 at Geno's (and the Mopar and Fleetgaurd filters are the EXACT same)

Ouch. Your butt hurt after that one? I have the guys at my local oil change place do mine. If i bring them the filter they do it for free since, while under the truck, it literally takes all of 5 minutes to do. If I don't bring one in, they charge me the $12 for the filter. I would find a new dealer.
