sorry to hear about that. we had a few punks steal from our dealership 3 months ago, they were caught. being a side job, is the dealership going to help on any expenses? Glad ya got it back.

On the locking cap, I was thinking same as a home alarm...not too hard to get around if they really want to, but enough to make some of the lazy low lifers move to my neighbor's house instead of mine. Just trying to make it a bit less of a target of opportunity. I like the hollow point response, and from what I hear, they also come in 9mm size and a slightly different but equally effective 12 gauge size as well in my neighborhood.

I have been meaning to get one. I have been risking it with not having one these days. But don't newer vehicles have a screen in the filler hose to prevent people from siphoning fuel?

Unfortunately, i doubt this was the work of kids just playing around. Think about it guys. They break into a dealership, chocked full of brand new and late-model vehicles and yet they steal a '96 for the fuel. They knew they could syphon fuel from the 2nd gens and not the 3rd gens. Fuel prices are causing those on the tightrope of social morality to fall off. It won't surprise me in the least if, in the coming months, we start hearing more and more news reports about fuel station robberies. Not for the cash; not for the lottery tickets; to turn the pump on.

It's also times like this that remind me that I enjoy my sleep at night because I have a small arsenal of weapons strategically placed throughout my home and sleep extremely light. I can't count how many times per month I step into my driveway at 2:30am, pistol in hand, because a noise woke me up. However, I think it may be time to invest in that moat complete with alligators and a drawbridge I have been thinking about...

If you ever are in Mississippi and see a 5 gallon gas can sitting by the shop door next to both my trucks, don't take it. It's 90% water and 10% gas. I put just enough gas in the can to make it smell like fuel and leave it out int plain view. I'm on my second one now. The last one was stolen a few months ago.
