Removing Just the Muffler
New to the forum and really enjoy reading the posts. I would like to keep my truck stock (for now), but wondered if I would create any codes or issues by removing only the muffler? I don't want a loud truck, but just a little more tone. Thanks! 2008 Quad Cab 2500 4x4, 6 spd, Inferno Red, Stock (for now). Replaced 1997 5.9. It will not throw any codes or cause any issues if you do remove it

If your referring to removing the muffler on a 6.7 then there isn't much to be had, they are basically straight through and only seem to reduce the cabin drone by a hair. All of the other stuff in front of the muffler does a good job of muffling things down.

It does drop egt's by about 100-150 degrees just put a 5" turn down bolted up to the dpf and you will notice a little drone from idle to 1500 but no sound difference, but I did notice the drop in egt's... I guess less distance for the exhaust to travel freed up some heat... But it does seem hotter under/around the truck when regen... Do It ! It definatly looks better than that stock pipe sticking out of the side...
