I just topped the truck up and the last leg of my trip I got 9.98 mpg US. Slowing down a bit seemed to help the fuel economy. LittleOleHotShotter: Do you get 20 mpg pulling the empty trailer or is it when you are not towing? I wish my truck would get 20 mpg! I will be pulling all of the sensors in the exhaust system this weekend and clean them to see if it helps.

LittleOleHotShotter: My trailer weighs in at just over 7000 lbs also...very heavy duty flat deck equipment hauler. Is your truck a 4x4? Can someone here please explain how the O2 sensors opperate? If I have to clean them on a regular basis in order to gain a few mpg no problem.

With mine it's wind resistance, not weight.... Took a 450 mile round trip to pick up feed yesterday. 21 mpg going up empty, loaded her down with almost 2500 lbs in the bed & back seet area (mega cab) & got 19.7 coming back. Did put a Leer XL-100 shell on a couple of months back & it's helped 1-2 mpg at highway speeds.
