Thinking about using mexican fuel for my 6.7l
Well, as much as i love this country i can't really stand what is being done.. all that they can say is .. " well as time goes by they can adjust " I say, NO MORE! my tank gets installed on thursday or friday depending on when my Warn winch comes in, after that i am going to mexico to fuel up all 105 gallons on my Inferno Red Ram, I don't know what it will do to the emissions but if anything happens i doubt that they can point it out that it was mexican diesel that done it.. anybody else doing it?

Laredo, I am really not worried about warranty issues i am mostly worried if there is a big difference in the DPF, will it get clogged up fast.. besides i think i only need about 3 weeks top.. it's coming off!

With Paul Young you are in the clear. If you have any problems at the dealer let me know, maybe I can pull some strings (I'm sure you can as well). Anyway, I wouldn't run the Mexican fuel in through the DPF, the truck might not make if a couple of gallons. Already I've seen a couple trucks get towed into the dealer with "bad" fuel. Usually Ranch Fuel. In my opinion, just wait for the DPF delete, then run mex fuel in it, that way if you ever want to put it back on, it's in perfect shape. I have a friend of mine a Gen 2 code free delete kit from Bay Area Diesel Performance. I'm in Laredo also. Merrick

Militia 6.7, I keep getting the exact opposite.. and about having the means i am only 2 miles away.. no biggie.. Guess we'll have to see about ULSD, some of the doctors that i know in mexico have new diesel benzes and they pump diesel there, and the were also telling me that Brand new Big Rigs go over there all the time to fuel up.. My problem is that they are targeting Dodge and Ford HD trucks.. Guess i'll have to take the baby

doing a little research and it turns out that they do have USLD in Mexico, you just have to know where to find it.. lol, still looking Mxico, 20 jun (EFECOM) .-The state company Petrleos Mexicanos (Pemex) said today that envi 300.000 barrels of diesel to the north border, principally in Low California, to overcome the shortage of fuel generated by the rises of price in the south of The United States. " In the first hours of maana sbado there begins the unload of 300.000 barrels of diesel of ultra under sulphur of the buquetanque Mare I gave Ravenna ", explic Pemex in a communiqué. 4/28/08 The Mexican diesel fuel is not the low sulfur type sold in the United States, but it actually delivers more miles per gallon. I’ve been going into Mexico the last few months, visiting Los Algadones near Yuma, Arizona; Acuna near Del Rio, Texas; and New Progresso near Brownsville, Texas. Fuel normally costs more in these border towns than the interior of Mexico but diesel is still half the cost of fuel in the United States. Mexican diesel is good. But gasoline is a different story: it’s not the same quality as in the United States.

with the 06' it's no issue cause there is no emissions bs on there.. with the 6.7 some have claimed clogged DPF, but then again.. who can you believe, i am still looking for one.. I go again tomorrow i might ask the doc if there is any ULSD in Nuevo Laredo..

Found it!! Filling up with diesel south of the border sounds like a good idea because it's cheaper and especially since it goes hand in hand with your vehicle that functions solely on ultra low sulfur diesel. Six Mexican border states, including Sonora and Baja California, carry ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD). But motorists shouldn't go too deep south of the border because service stations in the rest of the country aren't scheduled to carry ULSD fuel until 2009, said Margot Perez-Sullivan, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) spokeswoman at the San Francisco office. She also notes that not every single service station sells diesel. Those stations beyond the border region currently have low-sulfur diesel, which can ruin the engine that runs on ULSD. Service managers at dealerships don't recommend owners fill up their 2007 and newer compliant vehicle with any other type of diesel other than ULSD. "It can clog up the filters, gum up the engine and void their warranty," said Frieda Wilkey, service manager at Alexander Ford in Yuma. And they will know if you used Mexican diesel (or regular diesel) when they check your engine, she said. "With prices as they are right now I can't blame them, but you have to go by the book," Wilkey said. But they haven't seen any owners coming into the dealership with a damaged engine yet, she said. Since 2007, Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), Mexico's state-owned petroleum company, has carried ultra-low sulfur diesel in gas stations in the United States border region, according to EPA. ULSD is currently available in Sonora, Baja California, Chihuahua, Coahila, Nuevo Leon and Tamaulipas. The EPA mandated the use of ULSD on diesel powered engines model year 2007 and newer that are equipped with the advanced emission control system. The purpose is to reduce emissions of oxide of nitrogen and particulate matter coming out from diesel vehicles that harm the environment, according to EPA. ULSD is diesel fuel with lower sulfur contents that must be used with engines that have the lower emissions technology installed. The allowable sulfur content for ULSD is 15 ppm (part per million), which is scheduled to replace the low-sulfur diesel that contains 500 ppm. Federal regulations require that diesel pumps carry a label to specify the type of diesel fuel is being dispensed at the pump. The pumps that contain ULSD at Mexican service stations should have a label that reads UBA (ultra bajo azufre). EPA has sent a staff to random cities in Mexico, such as Mexicali, Baja Calif., to test the diesel fuel and make sure the service stations are distributing ULSD. She notes that some service stations do contain traces of the old diesel because it's slowly being replaced with ULSD.
