Diesel Kleen

Anyone with their DPF still intact running Diesel Kleen? The cost is cheap ($6.95 at Wal-Mart) and if it performs like advertised, then it sounds like a great deal.

From reading other posts regarding additives, it seems that most people without DPFs have no issues at all running any additive. Mine is stock for now and the owners manual says to not add any additives to the 6.7 liter because they may clog the DPF.

Thanks for any help.

I have run it in every tank since new. ~21600 miles on her now and no problems other than the typical p2000 O2 sensor codes, EGR cleaning, and one p2262 Turbo cleaning code. It doesn't seem to make any difference in the performance on the 6.7L vs. the 5.9L.

cleaner

I run seafoam in everything mostly my boat( keeps the prop as clean as new). I got 2262 and 0489 code so I thought I'd try it in my truck. Codes cleared and trucks runs better. Went to the beach last week took my truck cause I like it better than wifes car and made it all the way,568 miles on one tank. Which is the most I have gotten from a tank. Filled up and took 29.5 gallons. I think I will run a couple of cans thru it every 5k or so.

19.25 MPG hand calc ave. That is awesome. I guess the 3.43 gears really make a difference. That is awesome.

Stanadyne is good stuff. I've used it before, it is comparable to Power Service (Diesel Kleen). I just use Power Service because it can be found at Wal-Mart so instant availability.

I have also done the full 4-stage Seafoam service on vehicles before, most recently my old '99 Chevy S10 ZR2. It definately woke the little 4.3L up and made it run more powerfully and economically. I think I might do a seafoam service on my 6.7L after my DPF and EGR deletes get in. Clean out all the soot and crap that the EGR left behind.

Bronco,

How do you use the Seafoam? Do you shoot it through the CAI? Any info would help. Thanks.

I have ran it in 2 tanks sofar. I just dump 2 cans in and fill it up. I am at 16k miles now and have done this twice. Same as I do for my boat about 2 cans for 30 gal of fuel. I think the gears help and I ran pretty close the speed limit the whole tank.
