I was saying on another thread that Rotella Syn. was crap but its actually one of the better ones, It was Rotella Triple T that is crap

agreed, rotella is rotten. I haven't bothered to spend the money on it, does the syn. still smell just as bad as the regular rotella?

Has anyone run the Walmart 15-40? The specs look ok. I am thinking of running it as a short term transition oil before changing to Royal Purple in September (for the cold season).

Interesting - thanks for posting Matt.

Running the 6.7 with DPF restricts us to CJ-4... Rotella T seems to be amongst the rest of the CJ-4 pack, but reasonably priced.

Needless to say, this study supports losing the DPF so you can run CI-4 spec oil...
