Also....we are 2 miles from the Mexican border. I know people go there and fuel up for 2bucks a gallon still and come back in the states to use it up.
What happens to the truck if you run regular diesel, not LSD and not ULSD?
It's hard to resist when it's twice as expensive only 2 miles into the states.

are you talking about offroad diesel.? if so the only diff is a higher sulfer rating and red die. i dont know if mexico has the red die in theres. if you get cought running off road in your truck i have heard up to $10,000 fine in some states. in most cases off road will not hurt your truck only your wallet if you get cought with it. i would also asume the same could be said if they catch you going to mexico just to get fuel then come right back over here.

there are only two places here in Canton,Ohio to get ulsd and thats at the truck stops. all the other stations have lsd. the reason we dont have ulsd here is our refinery isnt set up to make it yet. the truck stops are getting there ulsd at a refinery in southern Ohio and are having it trucked up here which runs the price of the fuel up a little more.

I have seen the same as Avid. PA Turkey Hills still have LSD and it's a 50/50 mix of LSD and ULSD elsewhere in my area (NEPA).

I have heard from several different people with 2007+ trucks (all brands) that commented that they either had better mileage or their trucks seemed to run better with LSD...Not sure what to make of it and to chicken to try it myself.

I run it every now and then, and surprisingly, in my last tank I've so far gotten the best mileage with it.

It will plug up the particle filter.

Other that that it is fine.

+1 LOL! Dependent on the source and storage methods employed it may be wise to change your fuel filter a little more often.

My wife had her tank dipped (the one on the truck ) by the PA State Police last year. She was driving her F-350 during lunch...no trailer or commercial markings and was pulled over at a checkpoint off of I-81.

First I'd heard of that in PA. PA DOT seems pretty bad around the Reading area too. Not uncommon to see them with portable scales out on 222N
