Snow Plow On 6.7L

Any of you running snow plows on your 6.7L, I know the manufactor does not reccomend it. If you are what is your truck

2500/3500
Reg, Quad, Mega
Long Box, Short Box
4X4, 4X2 (i've seen it, but don't know why, small dump trucks)
single rear wheel/ dually
manual/ auto trans

how do you like your configuration

thanks
this will help me to buy my truck, the 6.7 liter and the frame are plenty strong for a plow. as of the moment i am looking at a 3500, quad cab, long box, 4X4, single rear wheel, standard trans

This is my boss's truck but I drove it and work fine with his 6.7L
2500
Quad
Short Box
4x4
Single
Auto

With a western plow that he took off of his 05 2500 Diesel. And it works fine

3500
Reg. Cab
Long Box
4x4
Dually
Auto-6speed
Love the setup, plus my truck has a snow plow prep. group on it. So as long as you ordered that than i don't see how they could ever deny you warranty

Heck ya it sounds like fun. Go pick up a 12 pack, put on some good tunes and have at it. Hell, I would take vacation from work to go plow.

Yup, running a Blizzard 8611lp, that is 11'3" wide. weight is about 1100lbs. My truck handles it great. with the sander as ballast of course. I do wish the front was a little taller though.

That's the type of plow I'm looking at for next season. Wow! 1100lbs, how does that affect the front end? Are there heavier springs avaliable, or is it even necessary. I was planning a four inch lift as well. I was thinking about maybe a Boss too, which is better?

i've plowed with a blizzard power plow on a duramax 3500 and that plow is amazing. there is no comparison between that and a straight blade. it is effortless with the joystick control too. its a tough plow and its cool gettin looks from people when ur playin with the power wings at a stop light

Old trucks are good for that and my current plow plow setup is a Northman 8' on a 79-3/4 ton PowerWagon with a 4-speed. It's a snow moving machine! But, it has a lot of little things going wrong with the truck, and the new truck is sooo much more comfortable. I just need a plow that will be wide enough for the dually.:thumbsup

go to westernplows.com and look at there "WIDE OUT" it is an 8foot plow with hydraulic extension that will allow it to go to 10 feet. my buddy has it on his Ford. i like it because it is easy to go down the road when the extensions are retracted and you can plow with a 10 foor blade. i would like to buy one but i need to see if Dodge will cover my warranty if i put a plow on the truck i would like to buy. they said the cummins can't get the plow package and therefore would void my warranty
