They should. The only time I've ever been asked if I plow snow, was my insurance company. I just seen an identical Dodge like mine with mounts on it the other day.

i'd look at the blizzard "power plow" over the "wideout".... i have heard that the construction on the blizzard is better. i like the hydraulic lift system instead of the chains, it responds quicker and rides the ground over on hills better. just my .02

Very much so. Blizzard invented the power plows. Douglas dynamics (owns western and fisher) bought blizzard last year for that design. They are still having some issues with the fisher and western designs. Blizzards are very tough. Last storm it seemed like I was hitting everything. no problems at the end of the day. If you dont' want to go that big you can go with a 810 instead. it will cover your rear wheels just as easy. If you want to make you plow even better go see Jerre in Erie, PA. He does a bunch of mods that will improve your plow even more. I have bought 3 from him. well worth the 7hour trip. If you want to really check out some info on it I am on Welcome To Let's Talk Snow.com - Home Of The Snowplowing-Contractors.com / LetsTalkSnow.com Discussion Forums. Great site with guys and a ton of knowledge.

:thumbsupIt is heavy but very productive. The plow is never on unless it is plow time that saves on ware and tare on the truck. Having the spreader as ballast is a huge help. They do make heavier duty springs for the dodge, I haven't got them yet.

I bought my dodge with the primary job of pushing snow in the winter. I have already paid for the plow and truck in one season. It is a beast in the snow. The gearing is perfect for pushing heavy snow.

If Western bought Blizzard, then can you still get a Blizzard? My Northman has the chain lift, and I really like that design. I watched the videos on the Western site for the Wideout plow, and they utilize the chain lift as well. That's a pretty impressive plow. I've been considering a v-plow as well, but I'm not sure I like it as well as a straight blade. Too many things to go wrong on it I think, and it looks like the Wideout can move more snow. I also like the way you can remove the lower mounts so you don't have the clearance problems with most plow mounts in the off season.

Yes you can still and will always be able to get blizzard. They are not discontinuing the product. If you are in a area that has a lot of heavy wet snow and need to open roads then a V is best. I ran a 9.5fisher on my F450 for 4 years and loved it. But now that I have 11'3" of plow with scooping ability there isn't any comparision. I make 2 passes for every 3 on a standard straight or V. Time is money when plowing and the blizzard saves me a lot of time.

Don't be scared by moving parts these plows are very well designed and can handle anything. Like I said in my previous post get it moded in Erie by Jerre, well worth it.

Don't be fooled by a chain lift either see the debate. No advantage by having one JMO

There is actually a Blizzard Dealer in OH (i think he is in OH) that has been authorized to do the mods. I can get you his info if you want.

OH is a long way to get a plow modified, but I would like the info. Snow is mixed here in IA, can be wet or dry and when it's wet, we seem to get more. You said the Blizzard is 11'3" wide? That's what I've been looking for is width, and I have a buddy with a Boss on his dually if I need to bust open a road. This info has been great! I'm needing new tires as well, and I've been leaning real hard towards the 19.5" wheel and tire combo and think that would be the ticket for the added weight of the plow, and if I add a sander then then they would be perfect.:thumbsup

When you see the mods it is well worth it. I drove 7hrs 3 seperate times to get mine done in Erie. First time was in my GMC6500. The last time was for the dodge.

They are all great people you will enjoy working with them. Also you will be pretty supprised with Andy.

Here is his info, Ask for Andy, tell him Matt from CT gave you his number.

Detwiler's Blizzard Plows West Liberty, Ohio(937)650-5296 Cell-937-605-2788

There are guys that drive from all over the country(MI, NJ, IA, IN, OH, ME, Minn) to Erie, PA to get these mods done. They make that much of an improvement.

Mine is an 07 if that makes any difference compared to 08 but mine says right on the Window Sticker (snow plow prep. group) I have a Boss 9'2" poly v blade and i wouldn't trade it for nothing.:thumbsup

No difference. FYI, all the "snow plow prep. group" is just an added skid plate. I actually had it out with my dealer about this. They told me I get an extra battery too. But that comes with the cummins already.

I assumed like most here that the snow prep would come with the stiffer springs. but NOPE. All you get is a skid plate. I was pretty pissed about it.

my dealer said i can not have the ^.7L and the snow prep package, i just want it to be under warranty. i talked to the service manager and he said if i put a plow on it, it would void my warranty. I think this is B***sh*t, the 6.7L wouldn't even know that you were plowing. how were you able to get the prep package. i don't even have to have the SNOW CHIEF package, just cover my warranty, that truck was made to work, so let me use it to work
