1st Fill-up and the results.

well I got the 1st fill-up done and did a comparison between the overhead and doing it by hand 438.5 miles and 28.9 gallons of fuel so 15.17 mpg not to bad for 1st fill-up overhead read 16.3MPG so it's off. I am logging every fill-up so I can see what happens with the fuel milage versus engine break in. The truck was built 4-07 no updates or reflashes as of now have been performed I did already have a CEL went and got the code read at Vatozone it was PO131 according to their code reader it was o2 sensor code. It came on at 105MPH just seeing what this truck can do. I have my fingers crossed

Wow, 105mph on the first tank.

Isn't there a go slow break in period on these beasts?

right now... i hate you!

just kidding! but seriously, i have never got more than 350 miles on a tank of fuel. but the truck is in the shop getting a new turbo and new flash so i hope that will help me out.

if you are only on your first tank, i would thinkg that the dealer installed the updates before you took delivery?

Did you only reset the overhead once? Or do you constantly reset it?

I break my stuff in the way I am gonna drive em. Like I stole it. Hell my duramax had 300 Miles on it paper tag in the back window and making passes at the drag strip it turned out to be a great truck. I just reset the overhead at the pump and the trip Odometer on the dash at the first fill-up the dealership payed for then just reset it again last night but today the CEL came back on I am not to impressed with that but its headed to dealer monday. I also towed my first trailer with it tonight tow's pretty decent I wish I had a cummins all along not having to floor it with 6800LBS on from every stop light is a nice feature.

I agree with ya. I have had 8 CTD's and have broken them in the same way. Here is my 08 with about 400 miles on it. 15.21@88.79 with just a AFE Stage II CAI
