Dealerships are not told what oil they have to run by Dodge/Chrysler. All dealerships are individually operated businesses that are only told that oil going into diesel trucks must meet API CI-4+ or CJ-4 specifications. Every individual dealership in free to find their own local supplier of oil and brand. Most dealerships choose whatever product they can get locally that meets spec but gives them the highest profit margin.

Delo is all my father and I will run and if I'm not mistaken it is approved for this motor. Run it and that motor will never wear out.

That is completely false. No where does the warranty state that you have to run a Mopar labeled filter to maintain warranty. The Mopar filters are just relabeled Fleetguard cellulose filters anyway.

Misinformation is a disservice to us all.

Even though the cellulose filters are just fine, I have yet to understand why they don't use the Stratapore's. Much better filter in every aspect.
