One week old and truck is at the dealer for the second time

After exactly 1 week my bone stock 07 6.7 showed the check engine light. The odometer showed 2 codes, P2000 and P0516. The dealer tech said his diagnostic system indicated the P2000 was not really a problem (not sure how he could tell) and reset both codes.

One day later (today) I get the CEL again and again 2 codes are shown - the P2000 again and P0128 (cooling system rationality). A different tech, supposedly the best one in the shop looked at the truck and like the first tech, said his system wasn't really showing the P2000 code even though it displayed in the odometer and he has a new fan clutch on order for the P0128 code. The temp gauge reads perfect and the AC works so I'm not sure if there is really anything wrong with the fan.

So my questions are, does anybody know about the P2000 code being ignored by diagnostic system and secondly does it seem reasonable to have so many seemingly unrelated codes?

The truck was built on June 27 and did not receive the AU flash before it was delivered to me. I talked with the sales manager about that and he knows there are software issues but says Dodge won't pay him to update the software before delivery. I requested the AU flash both times when I took it in but they say no since the trouble codes are not related to the issues addressed in the AU update.

I think the technicians are on a wild goose chase responding to the CELs and possibly there is something more fundamentally wrong (wiring harness? computer?) that is creating non-repeatable problems that mimic erroneous data and thereby cause the CELs.

I'm not a tech so I could be totally wrong but this is sure frustrating with a brand new vehicle. Thanks for listening.

Mine has been at the dealer more times than I care to count. And going back for two days next week.

2 weeks ago, I had a CEL for my EGR code P245A...Tech did a TSB 18-033-07 and flasher the controller. 1 week later, got a CEL again...the P2000 code. Tech. told me that there are software communications problems the the ECM and that is the reason for P2000 codes. They replaced my ECM with the latest version ( only one in 6 states I'm told) So far no problems... We'll see

I didn't know anything about a new version ECM. Do they look the same? In other words is it new hardware or new software?

Bad communication between the ECM and the truck is what I think too. It makes it look like a bunch of different failures but really there is only one failure (the ECM) that is creating multiple symptoms.

I got the truck back today. The ticket says he installed a new fan clutch. No CEL in the first 50 miles. The previous time the CEL came back inside 100 miles. Hoping for the best.

It was funny when I got into the truck there was something the tech forgot down by the shifter. A 12" piece of wire with alligator clips on both ends and a paper clip folded up and connected to one of the alligator ends. I took it back to the service writers and told them the guy might need his paper clip to fix the next 6.7.

check about the newest reflash. I took mine in on Tuesday (Oct 23), got it back Tuesday afternoon. From what I hear it makes the computer regen more often than before. If there is a reflash available, no dealer should be telling you that they wont do it. That makes no sense!
