Trucker GPS system debate, which is best?

Hey guys I've been looking around for a GPS system that is portable, I was leaning to the cobra 7700 but then saw the cobra 7750 that comes out in October 2010 and liked that much more. But I need one now, so I found a Rand McNally Intelliroute 700 which does almost everything the cobra 7750 does except for the speed trap alerts and red light camera warnings, but I like how it has the "3D" road view and enlarged exit signs and the 700 also has a car mode so I can take it on family road trips

What do you guys think?

I have been suing a Garmin for three years. It has a truck mode, but have to watch out. It has tried to send me over 10k bridges, under 12' overpasses, up one way streets the wrong way, just to name a few. You have to add in common sense and your two eyeballs to any GPS. Andyes, I still like my GPS.

I just got a Garmin 1390t which was soooo much better than my old Sony unit. I almost bought Garmins truck gps, but decided not to because the fact that I mostly do flatbed runs and can take my truck anywhere a regular vehicle can go. Obviously if it's a hazmat load that changes things but there is always signs all over the place for that.

Although that big screen the Cobras have would be nice. The reviews out there for them didn't seem that great.

Thanks guys, I ended up picking up a Rand McNally intelliroute TND 700 today, has the 7" screen and also a car mode, I like it haven't really got to use it much yet but I read alot of good reviews, just the normal use common sence with it, saying there are those times about sending you on low overpasses and bridges.

I've had 5 different Garmins over the last 12 years, and have been pleased with each of them. I think they are the gold standard for GPS.

I would have to agree with 2000rpm, I've too have used garmin for the last 5 years, and my mom used tom tom... I do not understand how tom tom is still in business. Hard to use is an understatement.
