6.7 silencer ring

could someone explain how this thing comes out. I saw other people took them out on other forums but didnt really explain very well how to take it out.

Did you have to drill out the pins? or did you leave the pins in? When you pryed, what did you pry against?

you guys may want to reconsider this if you're going to damage the ring or show any signs of doing it...

I just had my turbo replaced at 6900 miles. And I'm not the only one who's been showing the code for it.

I'm not sure what they have in the 6.7 turbo, But on the 5.9's there are no pins or drilling required to remove the silencer ring.

But then again , it might not hurt for him to check and make sure the snap ring is seated so he doesn't have the same issue......

one guy on TDR destroyed his ring removing it, which is why I suggested not touching it.

ahhhh.....I was thinking the silencer ring was something else. I pulled the plastic piece out of the intake tube and that made it a little louder, hence the thought this was the silencer ring....doh!

If you want the whistle, buy a cold air intake. The silencer ring also acts as an air guide, making the turbo more efficient.
