2009 Cel
I bought my 3500 LWB 4x4 QC about 8 weeks ago. It is completley stock except for the additional fuel filter/water seperator I added the first week I bought the truck. I towed my FW to my property in East TX on Nov 6. Everything worked great. Two days later, while driving around in town, the "CEL" came on. The truck had about 2,500 miles on it. I took it to Elder Dodge in Athens and left it there for a couple of days. They replaced the oxygen sensors (supposed to be updated with a ceramic coating), replaced the MAF, cleaned out the EGR and updated the computer with the most current program. While driving home from work this Monday, the "CEL" comes back on after only 250 miles of driving. Truck is currently at dealer. Both times the "CEL" came on was when I had taken my foot off the accelerator while going slightly downhill coming up to a red light. I also use the exhaust brake all the time. It seemed like the truck did a slight lurge forward both times right as the "CEL" came on. My truck has a build date of 03/09. I already have bought the stuff to do the EGR block off but have not installed it. If I block off the EGR and do the DPF delete, will it cause problems for the computer with a build date of 3/09? Sorry for the long post but I'm worried about deleting the EGR and DPF and it causing even more problems with the computer.

you're right on the fence with that build date. if you go with a programmer the Smarty will let you know if you have a locked ECM because the Smarty won't load the program. if it doesn't work you can return it and I would say get an Edge juice w/attitude or Edge Race. there is also the DPF-R and Edge Insight that will clear the codes with the Deletes. After you get it back from the dealer the first thing I would do is unplug the EGR its the reason your sensors are getting fouled. By the way what codes are you getting?
