I can't help but think some problems are related to how owners operate and care for their trucks. Some of these trucks are driven hard and put up wet.

I fixed the glitches with 5-6k on my 07.5, at 20k right now and no 'issues' to speak of.

I was thinking the same thing. Different areas of the country, different uses, different drivers, maybe even junk fuel from a lowlife fuel station owner. (could be an economical way for a service station to get rid of some of the used engine and gear oil)

I have had absolutely no problems with my 2009, and since winter is coming up fast it has been mostly relegated to transport and groceries. I think Cummins and Dodge got it figured out. Not to mention I knock down 18 MPG hand calculated and I drive like a mainiac.

From what I have read here and other areas, Dodge has been doing a pretty good job on cleaning up the issues with the 09s. Naturally, as with any engine, when you start modifying it to your personal preferences, bypassing the multitude of engineers who put their knowledge into the product to make it last (and reputation), you are going to start having problems. The Cummings diesel is meant to be driven and worked. When you make short trips, don't allow it to warm up, work out (outside of racing), you will eventually have some problems.
After the Ford 6.0, my 09 CTD is far superior it all areas with the exception of interior designs.

I tried to modify the poast but cant figure it out .. I really only wanted to focus on the problems. I suppose to get a comparison/baseline I should have entered a no problem choice.
Cant figure out how to edit the poll options ..
