Excellent regeneration thread on another forum

This guy seems to know what he's talking about.

I would love to read the (when things go wrong) thread he talks about.

"This counter is engine RPM and exhaust temperature dependent, so the more RPM the engine is turning or the higher the exhaust temperature, the faster the counter runs. When this counter reaches 24000, or the DPF reaches a soot load of 47 grams, the ECM will try to activate the Regeneration process."

So does this mean having an H&S dpf delete kit I will still have my counter hit 24000 and my truck will regen?

Current Setup:
3 H&S EGT temp foolers
1 H&S Pressure fooler
EGR blocked and butterfly plate removed

I believe the H&S temp foolers make the computer think that the egts are at 1185 degrees all the time so the computer resets itself when it hits 24000 because thats hot enough for a passive regeneration which requires no computer involvement..

I think we owners of these "re-gen" diesels should get some kind of a "green" credit/rebate. Buyers of solar power and windmills that generate elec get tax credits. We are doing our part to keep the air clean that cost us in more fuel for the re-gen.

His post gives a good reason why the 330 ohm SIMS appear to work better than the 470's. 330 gives a temp of 1205 or so, the 470 gives 1080 or so. 470 is borderline. Some people have had white smoke (regen) running the 470's
