2009 6.7 fuel economy

Glad to report my milage went from 13.0 with no deletes to 17.3 with all deletes and smarty box on 4 . Even my wife said it was a good investment.

Been thinking of the H&S kit that replaces everything from the turbo back. Any one here use their system? Likes and dislikes? I'm new here and just aquired an 08 mega cab and want to get rid of all the choking exhaust crap but don't want to deal with cel lights. Thanks

That explains why your numbers are lower. I got all flatland and warm weather around here. As well as being 2wd with stock tires and having a few mods

I love the deletes.

I went from 13 mpg stock to 12 mpg with 35'' tires emissions in tact...50/50 freeway/street

Now with all deletes, XRT 120hpV2 and 37'' tires I hit 16.1 with 70% street driving!!!

all hand calc

I just broke 18 MPG (hand calc’ed) on the first full tank with my XRT with 60 HP tune. This is a 40/60 city/highway mix with a 70 mile round trip with cattle trailer to & from the sale barn. Stock I was averaging 13.5 to 14 MPG.

What can I say?............... I LOVE MY TRUCK NOW!

My next mod is to install the S&B CAI I got yesterday from James @ RSD. I hope to do that on Sunday.

I'm at 16k miles and last three tanks ran 19.4, 19.4 and 21.5 mpg (numbers all hand calc, I record ever tank since new). The 21.5 was all highway at 50-60 mph following my buddy who was towing a tractor for me. I just have egr unplugged. Looking forward to deleting dpf and nox filters and egr at some point when I have time.

thinking about buying 09 diesel

I'm looking at an 09 with the 6.7L diesel (don't like the new body style), but I'm not going to shell out the cash they want only to get 12 mpg.

What are the "deletes" and "smarty box" you guys are talking about? are these things that can be done by me? do they void the warranty? will the dealer do them?

I think I'll take the plunge if I can get more respectable mileage numbers like you're talking about.

Thanks very much!

do some reading on here, bud. check out the 6.7 performance forum. Most of the Dealers will not do Mods and many of them are not Mod friendly. if you have Mods on some dealers will not even touch your truck and will void your warranty. one thing to consider is that most of the guys that have done the Deletes have never had to go back to the dealer. Good luck.
