Crossmember drop?

Hey ya'll, i got one for ya. Recently put a 6" BDS short arm kit on. I felt some vibration from the back comin home from work the other night, so I replaced both u joints on the rear driveshaft (1 piece shaft).

then i started getting some vibrations in the front driveshaft...i have an indexing ring ordered.

Now to my other issue...im still getting a vibration/slipping/i dont know wtf it is when i pull out (truck is a 6 speed) and doesnt do it all the time

Do i need to drop the crossmember to lessen the rear shaft angle?

or could it be axle wrap, and would taking the blocks out and putting in full leafs be the answer?

Any suggestions or experience with this would be greatly appreciated.

I know that dropping the crossmember to lessen the angle might help it a little bit, they might make spacers for your truck, its really simple to to.

By dropping your cross-member it will lessen your angle of your drive-shaft. The other problem you might run into is it will raise the front of your motor and may cause the fan to hit the shroud or the radiator. I would also be worried about twisting the motor mounts. I would personally just go with the indexing ring.

Im not sure why you would be having an issue with the rear. I have 7" tractionblocks in the rear and have no issue with DS angle.

are you sure its not just extra movement in the rear do to blocking it or taller leafs?

How much are you puling?

thats one of the things i was thinking, that maybe its from my 4" blocks under the stock leaf springs in the rear giving me axle wrap? but the thing is i havent tried pulling anything yet! im getting this from the truck, empty.

I had same problem soon after my 8" lift, it only did it when driving 50-70mph so I installed procomps tranny drop. well it fixed one vibration and created anothern, know it vibrates just when its in park and ideling, i think its just from twisting the engine mounts.

Temple, Nice truck.

I have the OUO crossmember drop and just indexed the TXVR case 20% i have no vibes at all. I did not lower the tranny. The stock one piece should be more than long enough where angles are no issue.

I bet its from the blocks, I have traction bars so maybe thats why i never had an issue.

I have hear people talking about this before but normally its with 2 piece axles.

my index ring is going on tomorrow. i saw the OUO cross member drop has the adjustment on it to lower the rear but i dont know. im kinda hesitant to mess with the tranny. im leaning more toward full leafs back there or the OUO traction blocks...they look pretty strong.

The index ring got rid of the vibration i had. Easiest way to determine if its comin from the front shaft is to take the front shaft out and drive it. If the vibration stops, you found the culprit. Mine wasnt makin any noise, least none that i could hear over my straight pipes lol. Tires being balanced wrong or a thrown wheel weight can also make a bigger difference that i would have thought.

06CTD59,
Did you have to install a crossmember drop to make room to index the t-case? How much did you rotate it? I am looking at the 6" BDS kit as well, so might as well do everything at once.
