2011 6.7 egt's

i have a 2011 3500 6.7, last night i just did a 5"dpf delete turbo back kit,egr/cooler delete, with H&S tuner . H&S told me to put the pyro sensor in the rear block off plate of the cooler. as soon as i started it up i had egt's at 1800f so i didn't even bother test driving it until i did more research. is that safe? or is it the truck is just warming up? what are safe egt's and boost?

Gotcha. The thermocoupler might be shorted so youll need to have em send a new one. Just recheck and see what ahppens. If you had 1800 at start up and it didnt change youd have some freak issue here which wouldnt make snese.lol

What tuner are you running? Mini Maxx or Black Maxx? Make sure the tuners set to read the H&S thermocouple and not the stock sensors. That could be your problem. I don't remember where to go in the menu on the top of my head. It's mechanically impossible for the engine to be at 1800* when you first start it so don't worry, nothings going to melt down. If it's not the setting it either a faulty pyro or the box the pyro connects to.

Like SkinInc69 said, in the menu options change the Pyro to H&S. When you're on the deleted tune and have the stock pyro selected 1800 is just like a default number that is displayed.
