Swapping an Aisin for a 68rfe?

My 2016 had an Aisin tranny which is great for pulling heavy loads but not so great for a deleted and tuned truck. Is it possible to swap an Aisin for a 68rfe? If so, what is entailed and how hard would it be?

Anyone have a low mile 68rfe they wanna trade? LOL

At this point that's high key unlikely.

You'd be money, time, and effort ahead to trade trucks.

Nope. Impossible. Well, not impossible as it's all a matter of swapping pretty much everything electrical and such to even pretend to get it to work. But it's not financially feasible.

Keep the Aisin, or trade the truck off if you want some power. Or do a 48re swap....

I don't think a 48re swap is possible due to the center console right?

A 48 swap is 1,000 times easier than trying to get a 68 swap to work.

Why is the aisin not good for tuned trucks? It is a stronger transmission.

It doesn't have to make sense. I took my brand new truck apart 1700 +/- miles into it. Took a drill to the brand new painted roof and drilled some holes in it. Dismantled the emission system that costs thousands $$. And I couldn't be happier

Op I would do an Allison swap.

Nothing HAS to make sense, correct. It your truck and do what you please, just seems like a really financially and logically backwards way to do things but it's not my truck and for sure not my money! Lol

I totally get it man- if it were me I would stick with the aisin if my truck came with it. There is absolutely nothing special about a stock 68RFE in my opinion. Yes it can be 'tuned' but that doesn't mean it's bulletproof. Plus the fact that it's constantly learning drives me nuts. Some days I get epic shifting-other days it wants to be finicky (not that it's mechinaclly degrading or having issues-it just wants to show me how 'smart' it is by shifting a little different today). I want a transmission that shifts the same all day everyday.

Not sure if the Allison meets those needs of consistent shifting 100% of the time but I hear great things about it.
