CCV delete kit issues

I just installed the Glacier Diesel CCV delete kit on my 2013 6.7. Now about every 50 miles I get the p04db code. I know this is for "Crankcase vent disconnected" Is that typical for a CCV delete kit? and is it okay to keep running it and just keep erasing the DTC? Thanks!

Your crankcase filter need to be replaced or the media removed. It is seeing restriction.

Okay, so I need to remove the media then. the crankcase filter is new maybe two months old, and I have the little breather sticking out there on the side of it.

I guess having it connected to the intake helps suck the vapors up thru the crankcase filter. Without that the gases are just floating in there barely escaping thru the breather.

But thanks!!

That breather will get oily and drip a gross mess all over your exhaust manifold. Throw that thing in the garbage and run a hose to your axle. I have tried those GDP kits a couple times. Mistake. Yes you have to remove the media inside because you have a restriction on the engine now. When it was still plumbed into the intake upstream of the turbo the turbo would help pull the gases through the ccv filter.

You need to have your tuner shut off the P04DB.

I Have the GDP CCV kit ready to be installed on my '16. Haven't yet as I changed my mind to run a hose down instead. In the case this happens to me as well does anyone mind explaining what this 'media' is that may have to be removed?

the media they r talking about is just the actual filter material, u just need to rip it all out and put the empty plastic shell of the filter back in. it has much less restriction then leaving the filter material in and cause a CEL
