Ya I bet its for relieving thermal expansion from within the radiator.

Wow, nice job documenting your work!

Maybe I missed something, but what is the point of the standpipe delete?
It's kind of a nice spot to bleed the air out upon refilling coolant.

You do excellent work, very clean appearance!

Thanks I appreciate it! The main reason is because its ugly and fairly unnecesesary. Until now, there was no product available seperate from any kit on the market to completely remove it.

The bleeder was useful but there are plenty of other ways to bleed it. The jiggle pins in the thermostat makes it pretty much a self bleeding system. So now you just have to bleed it the same way we've been bleeding our 5.9's all these years!

I also wanted to mention that I haven't tested fitment of this part on the earlier 6.7's (07.5-09). Im not sure if the connection is the same or not. If anyone here here would like to test this, shoot me a pm

The thermostat has jiggle pins making it self bleeding however if you're still not sure, its pretty easy to loosen one of the plugs on the head etc

Leave the overflow cap off at idle until the thermostat opens.
