custom intake on a 13+ cummins

I would like to try throwing an open filter on to my stock intake tubing. Has anyone done that with the active air system? Only thing I'm unsure of is it throwing a code or something. I'll leave the factory air box just want to run an open filter. Thanks!

You won't gain anything from this there's no point with the factory box being so good.

Question is, why would you want to remove the effects of a CAI and pull hot air from under the hood?

I thought only grid heater abortions on stock intake shelves gave horsetorques.
