interested........hopefully it doesn't become a pissing contest as other threads have before. thanks BobSagetIsGod? for putting something up again. I am still toying with which programmer I want to go with and I am sure there will be a lot of input in this thread.

Until datalogging is a reality we will not support this platform. I will say that they have came a long way over the original udc, but the lack of datalogging puts anyone doing remote tuning in a very bad place.

datalogging

you can datalog on ultra and read on comp while you are in truck with laptop and warp and then make rt adjustments and log those as well.
use the little red record button

Can those logs be save and shared? Or is it just a real time thing.

everytime you save a log, it creates and saves the file to log folder in root directory of SD card.

It will log whatever pids are on the screen at the time.

logs can be viewed in exel or graphed on program such as datplot.

You can share or email or do whatever you want with the log files

Ultras and mm3's have no card limits as well so you can log till your card runs out and you can put whatever card size u want in it.

heres a couple examples:
i understand efi has great logging tool but im just stating that the ultra will log as well

So it will only log what's on the screen? Am I understanding that right?

that is correct minor downfall. screen c default has 6 pids which is most of the 4 dashboards. what you can do though is customize the dashboards in groups then toggle between them for faster transitions in logs. In my experience, i can get away with it. especially if i am working on vane position for example... i would only need a handful of pids

So once that barrier is broken there will essentially be fully data logging capabilities. I assume that's something that is being developed?

im not sure yet. right now there is only logging from the display itself.
hopefully in the future we get full logging capabilities. for now at least we have some. more importantly we can real time over 400 parameters while we drive, one at a time 5 at a time 350 at a time..... really no limit.

The real time feature would be useful for in person tuning, but with the popularity of remote custom tuning, I gotta believe that is the hold up for most of the real tuners. I'm just guessing.

True. Right now I am using the data logs for more remote diagnosis of problems. I can request pids I would like to see based on report or issue. As far as remotely writing tunes we can still select whatever pids we want to see in a data log. Hopefully in the future we get the ability to see more than what's on the screen. I believe raceme going in the right direction.
