Gooseneck wiring harness for 2012, 6.7L 2500

We are looking to purchase a 5th wheel/gooseneck wiring harness for our 2012 2500 HD 6.7L HO Crew Cab Short Bed Laramie to extend the plug into the bed. We have the towing package which has the combo factory 7-pin/4-pin plug in the rear bumper. Checking Bargman’s website it lists the following four that match my search (cut and pasted from their website below). They all appear to have the same description but all list different part numbers and I am questioning why. Initially I thought it may be a wire length issue as it appears some of their other applications offer a 7' or a 9' but all these seem to list as 9'. No answer from their website to this question posted to it two weeks ago. I am looking for assistance in making the correct Bargman choice for my application. Other suggestions from other suppliers are welcome but I would like some insight into these part number differences if anyone has any previous experience with this supplier. What makes things more interesting is you look on e-bay and other online stores and some list these part numbers as a fit and some do not. Thanks! Mike

I think the 54700 & 54701 are Curt Mfg. numbers. I seen from $60plus to $90. just have to search. Tweedy's RV, Adventure RV, E-Trailer ect

Gooseneck wiring harness for 2012, 6.7L 2500

Thanks! I believe I'm a little closer to figuring this out.

Looks like the 54700-003 is the 9' and the 54701-003 is the 7'. They are Bargman part numbers but there is still a lot of discrepencies with sites listings of the lenghts while searching so I may have it backwards. Either way I believe both of these should work and based on others posts the 7' should be plenty as both sizes seem to have excess that everyone tie wraps up and out of the way. I don't have a problem with different lenghts but with four part numbers listed for the same vehicle I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a pinout issue or something else that would cause operational issues.

For the last couple trucks I have outfitted for our oilfield trucking business I have purchased our 7 ways from Etrailers.com Just go to their website & enter your truck make & model, it takes you directly to the one you need. They have decent prices as well.

Trailer lights wont work from 7 way in bed or bumper

keep reading about the TIPM and fuses and special issues with Dodge connectors for trailer brakes. But my F350 runs my horse trailers great, and my 7 way on the Hummer runs them too. Hook them to the 2012 Dodge Ramm Mega Cab 3500 Laramie Longhorn, and I get no Left turn signal, no L hazard, No L. brake light, just a running light. Bought a new set of lights and tested on Dodge and all other trucks, same result. Dodge fuses are all fine.

Is there some special thing that needs to be done?
