2012 Fuel

I've done about everything I know to do to improve fuel mileage on my 2012 regular cab 4wd duallly, including CAI, synthetic fluid in diffs, replaced tranny fluid (Aisin) , H and S Mini Maxx, etc. The biggest thing I haven't done is free spin hubs, but that's not worth it just for fuel economy. I'll look at switching if/when my front bearings go bad. The most I can get out of it is around 13-14 hand calculated. I know some folks say they're getting more, and it appears the 5.9's did a little better on fuel maybe. And I do drive conservatively, my right foot isn't the problem. Anyone have ideas on improving fuel economy?

Would partially plugged fuel filter do it?

What gears you have in the rear end?? I got 3.73 and sitting on 35's. On a long highway road trip and can drive the speed limits and usually muster out a little over 18(hand Calc.) local back country two lane black top I only average 15ish. I been tracking my fuel usage with an app for a minute now and most tanks only average 11.5-13.5 but I have a 20ft trailer in tow 3-4 days a week. That and I am not afraid in the winter time to start the truck early and some days get side tracked and have it idleing warming up 25+ minutes...

I have 4.10, but it's the Aisin with double overdrive and I'm only running 1850 at 70 mph. Stock tires. My previous truck had 3.73 and was higher than that. What year is yours? Any mods?

My 12 usually does just about the same as ron's other than I rarely pull a trailer so my city average is about 15.5. After owning two dually trucks, I can tell you that is your problem. I never could get any good mpg out of either dually, no matter how I drove or mods I made.
