Rear speakers

Just bought me a cab and chassis the other day. Was really happy until 20 miles later, realized there is no back sound. Researched it a little and discovered the cab and chassis trucks come with speakers, wired up for that matter. And disabled with the computer and no way to turn them on. This is something I will not stand for. Being 19, sound is very important to me. And at 60k for this truck. I expect all my speakers to work.

I'm reaching out to as many ram owners as I can, and asking them to make this an issue with Chrysler. It's not right that all of us are paying over 40K and can't enable the rear speakers. When you can buy a ty pro master and they have a stupid easy way to enable them...without going to the dealership.

In my 06 and my 07.5 I had to re-wire the wiring to the back doors. Of the 8-9 wires that run through the door jam boot all of the smaller gauge wires were broken. The power locks, speakers and the door ajar sensor were not working. The only thing working was the power windows because it was heavier wires. Can be easily fixed. I find it unlikely that they would install them and wire them to not use them. I seriously doubt it is a computer issue. The boot can be pulled out from the cab pillar you will quickly see the broken wires if the case. Remove the door panel and push the boot into the door and feed it through the opening in the door at the top nearest the cab. Push the boot back as far as you can. I use a light tester, or something very sharp and pointy to unlock the pigtail pins as to remove all 8-9 from the white pig tail end. I took a photo of it prior as to not mix the wires up. Soldered them all back together and has been fine for about 2 years now on the 07 and a year on the 06. The rear doors open to a sharper angle and I believe this is the cause for the rear door wiring failing before the front doors. This I think this would be a good thing to try first.

2015. I can assure you this is an engineer being stupid thing. Because, on the fader, I dont even have the option to go front or back. It's maxed out to the front.

Yeah all 5500's are c&c. I would love to upgrade it to the 8.4 like my 14 but dodge says I can't because of how integrated that climate control is.. The things these "car" makers do is BS! I wonder if they can update the software?

I 'm pushing it as a warranty issue. And the way I see it, the truck came with speakers, that aren't working, they are required by law to repair it.

I'm with the guy on the other thread. If I cant get it resolved, I'm thinking of telling the dealership to take it back and going chevy. Cause either way I'll be crying. But I can't do a nice aftermarket addition to my radio with only two channels. So I feel I got no choice.

I'm pretty dang sure my 16 4500 has them and they work. I even upgraded them. Mine is the Non Alpine 8.4 model.

I'm sure you have the wiring all the way to the back of the stereo. You could buy a DSP and wire it directly, you're going to want a sub anyways. Just ditch the OEM head unit and have a local shop install something worth a crap.

Which dealer did you buy it from?
