silencer ring removal
I am trying to remove the silencer for my 06, and I do not see any other way aside from getting a new hollow one or making my own. the baffels do not seem to come out. any ideas?

I asked this question on the third page of that thread. I did what steved did and took a small screwdriver and broke the two pieces apart on the tube and took the plastic guts out. I used loctite 401 (surface insensitive) to glue the two pieces back together then wrapped it with electric tape to be sure it was fully sealed. I actually hear more from the turbo from that mod than I do from actually taking out the silencer ring.

Whoooaaaa, that is not the silencer ring.!!! The ring is a small piece of metal on the turbo on the outside of the fan looking thing you see after pulling off all the plumbing. Let me look and I will post a site that has all the info about the turbos on these things and it has pics of how to do it. Mike Edit: I now realize what you are talking about and I replaced mine with stainless chrome, but if you take out the ring it will sing even more.

Never mind I figured it out. I now have an engine light on in my dash and there is no difference in the sound. Anyone have an idea why mine is not louder like everyone else says their's are once this is done? Also, has anyone else had their engine light come on after performing this? I have a 05 Dodge Ram 3500 Dually 4X4 with 410's.
