No sound diff and I didn't notice a power difference...but it's hard for me to feel slight increases. Other people have stated that they can feel in increase in midrange power. I'm getting a bit better mileage (unloaded, no change pulling trailer) and I no longer have to deal wiht the grid heater cycling...

I live in a mild climate and even when I have my truck off for several hours it takes a few seconds for my wait to start light to go away. I would be okay without a grid heater? I thought it needed that to help it start?

Well with bitter cold like that I think you should plug your truck in at night and wrap the whole truck in blankets! JK Yeah FBD is working on a batch right now. I am very interested...at worst it is an improvement in air flow and hopefully will help the cause with fuel consumption.

Great pics awenthol! Thanks

When it was 30* here one morning I decided not to wait for the heater to kick off and just started it as soon as I got in the truck and it roared to life just like any other day. Oh also my truck was plugged in but it popped the GFI in the outlet so it was stone cold.

Instead of buying the grid heater spacer, why couldn't you just take out the heater and mount the intake dirctly? I don't understand why the hell there would be a heater to heat the air going into the motor when you want cold air going in? I think I'll take this out of my truck when I hear the replies from this, because it is a big time restriction. I noticed that when I put my CFM+ intake on.

Oh yeah, the only thing you should need for completely removing this is shorter bolts.

Why it's there - emissions and really really cold starting.

You COULD bolt the intake horn directly to the manifold if you have clearance but the intercooler tube will need to be modified.
