Appears that majority of the issues are up north during winter months. Could be the extreme temperature swings and the CP3 housing being aluminum which has a high expansion/contraction rate may have an effect. Also how pliable is the o-rings in cold temp, do the o-ring harden up when cold?
Look at the Challenger disaster and the booster rockets o-rings seal issues.

Rich, if you could put a couple of the factory o-ring seals in the freezer could help determine if it's a seal/temp issue. If the seals become very hard and non pliable when frozen that may just be the problem.

I put the old seals in my freezer for about four hours and when I got them out they were very stiff but softened very quick.

The thermal coefficient of aluminum is 13 ppm per degree Fahrenheit. Steel is 6.5 and glass I believe is 1. I think your thoughts have merit.
