I don't know for sure, for sure what the weep hole is about.

I don't think it has anything to do with the cascade overflow valve. I might be wrong.

I've been running a Walbro 392 since 2000. How long did your fuel pump last ?

well mine might just as well had a weep hole since it was leaking from somewhere. I caused my mileage to drop and also made a mess out of the garage floor for a while.

I've got a theory that the CP3 leak is caused by the seals drying out and burning due to lack of lubrication flow due to lack of fuel supply due to weak lift pumps. The theory is unproven at this point.

If it isn't covered under warranty you can get a seal kit and fix it yourself.

what kind on work are we talking about here, and how much???$$$ I thaught about that when mine went out. I have actuall thaught about doing all things myself once it is out of warranty because I'm not paying a mech to work on it for $150.00 per hour plus full price for parts..

I dunno how much the seal kit is from Dipaco. My guess would be $20. One could probably get seals from a seal shop too.

As far as doing it, just a matter of pulling the pump and pulling it apart. Pretty straightforward. If you send me digital pictures, I'll walk through it with you. Other people might be interested in learning about this.

I emailed Dipaco about a seal kit but they did not respond,so I wonder if they sell such a kit.

They sell it. If nothing else, pull the pump apart, pull the seals and head to a seal shop. They'll find you seals for it.

What do you use to pull the gear on the front of the Cp3? Looking at the pic in the service manual, it looks like a steering wheel puller.

Is the CP3S now the replacement part for CP3 on a 2004?

I'm getting my third pump installed (warranty) tommorrow (hopefully, they are playing games with me now) and I'd like to know if I've got a better pump or another leaker... They refused to look at the lift pump as a possible cause.

I'm still evaluating my options for this going forward...

Ok, I have some info on the CP3 S3. That pump is current on the '03's! I don't think that there has been anything different. I just bought a 2003 built 305hp and it has the CP3S3 right from the factory, and so does my 2004 truck with the 305hp! Interesting.
I will post pics of the pump shortly.

Cheers!

Chad

It is all very interesting. Looks like we have lots to figure out still. For instance, my 03 SO says CP3 on the sticker with the older part number, 5086765AA. The new pump I purchased to modify says CP3S on the sticker with the new updated part number, 5104877AA. Surely you would think there is some difference between the two.
