home made torque tube write up.

i already have a afe system on my truck but i built this for my neighbor. we were in the garage taking his silencer ring out when i looked over and saw a left over piece of 5" exhaust tubing in the corner. i thought to myself " i wonder if this would fit with the stock rubber elbows".. sure enough it did. so here we go.

start by taking out your stock intake tube and yanking out the baffles in the elbow that connects to the turbo.

notice the restriction in the stock section to be replaced.

now measure the stock piece and mark the new one for cutting(it was 8").

be sure to sand all the burs off from your cut and clean the inside out so there is no particles in the tube at all. i left this one raw so you can see it better but you can paint any color you want. next put the elbows back on, but don't tighten all the way so you can adjust as necessary.

no more restrictions.

all that's left now is to put it back in your truck. my neighbor is not home so those pics will have to wait. hope this helps as its a easy mod that only takes about 20 minutes to do. enjoy, jim.
